How often should I change my tampon?
Our Answer
What our doctors say
You will get to know your regular flow with more practice, but changing it more often is always better! With tampons, about 6 hours is recommended. Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), a disease caused by wearing a tampon for too long, is rare, but still something to take seriously. For pads on the other hand, there is no risk of TSS, but it is still good practice, and more comfortable for you, to change it often. You can wear it for more than 6 hours, so change it a few times during the day and leave it overnight if you want. Talk to a doctor if you are feeling any uncomfortability or irregularities.
